COMMUNITY OUTREACH EVENTS & DRIVES Along with the usual goals people make to improve their health, take a trip, spend more time with your family, start a new hobby. How many of you have a goal to give back or volunteer for an organization this next year?
Your Community Outreach Committee is dedicated in helping organizations that matter most to our membership. We want to partner with our members to help MPI make a difference in our surrounding community. Here are some highlights of the organizations we have committed to helping in the upcoming months.
March & April Donations: Seattle Humane Society
Seattle Humane Society brings people and pets together for lifelon g relationships. I know from firsthand experience this is true! Although I didn't get my little guy from the Seattle Humane Society, I did get him from a Shelter in Arizona, I am grateful every day for the love and compassion he received at the shelter prior to his adoptiong. What we will be collecting:
Pet Food and Spare change. We will be collecting your change to help fund the various programs that the Humane society supports. At the March & April meetings there will be a coin jar as the center pieces of the tables to collect any and all loose change.
*Also, please send in photos of your furry friend we may use them during this Community Outreach!
Committee Organizer: Melanie DeGrow, Sourcing Sales Executive, American Express Meetings & Events
April: National MS Society Walk
This year our local chapter will be partnering again with our MPIWSC members in Spokane in a collaborative effort to raise money and walk for MS. There are over 12,000 people battling MS in your local community and over 72,000 who support these people affected. There are approximately 2.5 million people worldwide that have Multiple Sclerosis. Help us make a difference and have some fun with your friends and fellow chapter members this April. The walk is April 14, 2013. Sign up now to join either the Seattle or Spokane Walk MS team!
