MPIWSC AWARDS

Planner Member of the Year
The Planner of the Year recipient is a member who made outstanding contributions to MPI’s Strategic Business Plan, overall participation and contribution to the association, events industry and community, and for their leadership and professionalism. Nominees are evaluated on their overall chapter involvement for the year, long-term leadership and service to MPI, professional accomplishments, meeting industry service, MPI International involvement and community involvement.
 
Supplier Member of the Year
The Supplier of the Year recipient is a member who made outstanding contributions to MPI’s Strategic Business Plan, overall participation and contribution to the association, events industry and community, and for their leadership and professionalism. Nominees are evaluated on their overall chapter involvement for the year, long-term leadership and service to MPI, professional accomplishments, meeting industry service, MPI International involvement and community involvement.
 
Rookie of the Year
The Rookie of the Year recipient is a member of less than 3 years who made outstanding contributions to the chapter their first year as a member. Board members will not quality for this award.
 
Tomorrow’s Leader Award
Tomorrow's Leader is presented annually to a 3-year or more member of MPI, in recognition of outstanding contributions to MPI’s Strategic Business Plan, association/industry/community contributions, leadership and professionalism. This award is based on international and chapter participation, presentations relating to the industry in general, articles written in the hospitality industry press, community service and industry recognition previous received. This award recognizes a career involvement, commitment and achievement and recipients will represent models of professional excellence.
 
Corbin Ball Technology Award
This award recognizes a member who has contributed to technological improvements in the chapter marketing, communication, meeting presentation enhancements and other areas of technology. The award is named after MPIWSC member, Corbin Ball, in honor of his significant contributions to the advancement in meeting planning, tradeshow and event technology.
 
President’s Award
Awarded by the current president to a member who he or she feels has made a significant contribution to the chapter, or has provided substantial support and guidance to him or her during term as president and/or throughout his or her time on the Board of Directors.
 
Silver Platter Award
This award is determined by the chapter members' responses from the meeting evaluations after each program. Venues are scored on meeting room layout, menu selection, food quality, service and whether or not they were an appropriate venue for the program. The award goes to the venue that scored the highest average overall for hosting a monthly program or special event.
